Product Description

We produce high-quality stainless steel for forging applications. Our wide range of size viability gives customers the right to choose the right sizes based on their applications. Stainless steel ingots are used for direct upsetting forging, open die forging, Re-Rolling, Ring Rolling, Flanges, sst profile, and other engineering cases.

Ingot against billet

An ingot is poured into a cast-iron mould and solidifies from the outside in, which gives it the coarse cast structure a forge then refines by working; the fluted mould, with its corrugated faces, resists the surface cracking of a large square as it cools. A continuously cast billet or bloom solidifies in a water-cooled copper mould as it is drawn, is smaller and more uniform, and is the feedstock for rolling. A forging that needs a large starting mass, a high reduction ratio or a size the caster does not produce is made from an ingot; everything else starts as a billet.

Ingots from 1,160 kg to 22,000 kg are poured in the square, fluted and round shapes listed, in the grades of the grade register, and are supplied spot ground or fully ground for open-die forging, ring rolling, upsetting and re-rolling.

Laxcon packs forging quality stainless steel ingots in standard bundles of 500 to 1,000 kg with HDPE or LDPE wrapping and two lifting slings. ISPM 15 wooden boxes and fibre-tube packing are available, and every bundle is marked with heat number, grade, size, and net and gross weight.
