Our integrated manufacturing edge gives us the ability to produce steel in a variety of finishes, surface options and profiles
OVERVIEW
As one of the top stainless steel cold drawn flat bars manufacturers India, we carry out the cold drawn stainless steel process in which the pointed end of the bar or coil is passed through the die, where it enters a gripping device of the drawing machine. The drawing machine draws the remaining unreduced section of the bar through the die. The die reduces the cross-sectional area of the original bar, increases the length of the original product, and shapes the profile of the product.
The final product being drawn is at room temperature, i.e., cold finished steel bar, which exhibits a bright and polished finish, and improved machining characteristics. The drawing operation enhances the mechanical properties, tensile strength, and precise and uniform dimensional tolerances, offering tight tolerances in the final product. This cold finished steel provides excellent finished steel bar quality compared to hot rolled steel or cold rolled steel.
Composition limits for 304L, 316L, 316Ti and 321, and for the DIN numbers they are ordered under, are in the grade reference. Weight per metre for a given width and thickness is worked out by the weight calculator.

Density 7.90 g/cm³, width x thickness x 0.0079. Where a width is listed with two values (25/25.4) the first is used.
A hot rolled, annealed and pickled flat bar carries the tolerances of EN 10058 and a pickled, matt surface. The cold drawn flat carries h11 on both width and thickness under EN 10278, sharp edges and a bright surface, and its yield strength is raised by the cold work, which is why a drawn flat is specified for slides, keys, wear strips and any part that is used as supplied on at least one face. The HRAP range runs to 150 mm wide; the drawn range runs 20 to 80 mm, and the four grades supplied drawn (304L, 316L, 316Ti and 321, as 1.4307, 1.4404, 1.4571 and 1.4541) are the low-carbon and stabilised grades that tolerate the cold work without sensitising.
The drawn bar is supplied solution annealed after drawing where the drawing specifies the annealed condition; the certificate then states the annealed properties, not the as-drawn ones.
Laxcon publishes cold-drawn stainless steel flat bars in widths from 20 mm to 80 mm and thicknesses from 8 mm to 40 mm, subject to the width-and-thickness combinations in the table below.
Published grades for cold-drawn flat bars include 304L, 316L, 316Ti and 321, with DIN equivalents 1.4307, 1.4404, 1.4571 and 1.4541. Bars are supplied cold drawn and pickled, solution annealed, in lengths from 2 to 6 metres.
Cold-drawn stainless steel flat bars are supplied to h11 and ASTM A484 tolerances. Final acceptance should state the grade, width, thickness, length and applicable tolerance on the purchase order.
Laxcon packs cold-drawn stainless steel flat bars in standard bundles of 500 to 1,000 kg with HDPE or LDPE wrapping and two lifting slings. ISPM 15 wooden boxes and fibre-tube packing are available, and every bundle is marked with heat number, grade, size, and net and gross weight.
An enquiry for cold-drawn stainless steel flat bars is quotable when it states the grade, governing standard, metric size or profile, tolerance, finish or heat-treatment condition, length, quantity, test or inspection requirement, and delivery destination.
